Via Kalamata: During the summer months there are charter flights to Kalamata. U can combine this destination with a visit to the many sights on the peninsula. From Kalamata it's about a 45 minute drive to Methoni. For flight information check:

• Goedkope-Tickets.nl, destination Patras. This flight is offered by touroperator "Seat Only".

Via Athene: There are daily direct flights to Athens from several cities across the Netherlands, or just across the border from Germany. From Athens it's about a 4 hour drive to Methoni by car. There's also the option of travelling by bus, or taking the train to Methoni. Please note that this train takes up to 9 hours to reach Kalamata!

Car rental: Through the internet it's easy, and most of the time cheaper, to rent a car. If you rent a car for longer periods of time, e.g. a week or longer, most rental companies will offer a discount. Both at the airport of Kalamata, Patras and Athens, there are car rentals. We recommend to make early reservations though.

By own transportation

You can drive to Greece by travelling to Italy, and taking the ferry from Italy (Venice, Ancona, Brindis and Bari) to Greece's main land (Igoumenitsa in the North and Patras in the South). Then drive to Methoni from there.

The advantage of going by own transportation is that you will have your own, well known and comfortable, transportation with you. Also petrol is much cheaper in Greece than in The Netherlands, and the roads are fine most of the time. Greece is putting a lot of effort in upgrading the roads the last couple of years.
